This month is an interesting month, I have tasted some good beer and some new type of beer which really bring beer culture in Malaysia to a new height. We are the second highest excise duty in world for beer, yet more and more interesting beer are coming in.
So far we have around 70 brands in this country that can add up to about 200 over choices of beer to choose from. Two interesting drinking place that launch this week itself will bring new perspective to beer drinker. Overtime @ Jalan Sultan Ismail offer Starker Beer which “fresh” really make a different. Then we have Craft Brew @ Mutiara Damansara, which offer some craft beer from Reddot, Flying Dogs and Rogue. I have yet to try all the range, but I believe it’ll we bring in some cool aspect to it.
But the story haven’t end here, we got more interesting new beers. Bottles & Bottles @ The Garden, Mid Valley bring in 3 more brand with 7 type of beers to add to the list of new beer in the market. I haven’t taste any of it, it still sitting in my fridge. I can’t wait to try all of it with some friend next week.
With so many good news on Malaysia Beer scene, what more can a beer writer hope for? Again the story doesn’t end here, I receive a called the other day about non-alcoholic beer which I have search high and low for it. Of course the market have some non-alcoholic beer that taste like fizzy lemonade, but this time around the distributor promise me that the non-alcoholic beer they bring have 15 range which 2 have the taste like beer and not flavoured.
More and more good news which make beer scene really interesting. There are more people start to enquire about having their own draught at their own party. I provide more info about it in near time, so consumer have more idea about it. I’m currently collecting data for it.
So what is the new trend for beer? I predict next year will be a good year for beer, as many new type of beer are introduce to the market. But now come the question, is the market ready for all the new stuff that are thrown in? Is the market know what they are drinking? Is the market know how to enjoy it? That, we will have to find out next year. An interesting year ahead. Cheers!
